Thank you to all who participated in and donated to our third annual gingerbread house competition! This year's first place winners, Team Sugar & Spice, were able to join Richard and Jen at the Make-A-Wish Connecticut headquarters for a tour led by Allison.
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to present Make-A-Wish CT with a check for over ten thousand dollars—enough to make one child's wish come true.
The tour was informative, emotional, and inspiring by turns. The building, which is full of welcoming, colorful decorations and fun, interactive games, was a joy to explore, and provided a wonderful backdrop for the moving stories Allison shared about the Wish Kids her organization has been able to help.
At the end of the tour, Jeanette and Tracy from Team Sugar & Spice joined Richard in presenting Allison with the $10,025 check provided by your donations. The “sweeter ” component of Team Sugar & Spice was then joined by their “spicier” counterparts, Louis and Mike, to receive their first-place prize of a chocolate gift basket . Before leaving , everyone was invited to make a wish and toss a coin into Donny’s Wishing Well, named in honor of Connecticut’s first Wish Kid, Donny Miceli.
We are so grateful to our community for continuing to support us in our annual competition, and are honored to be able to contribute such a significant donation—enough for an entire wish!—to such an incredible organization.
