St. Mary's Hospital

Richard Turlington Architects collaborated with St. Mary's in their efforts to renew their presence in Waterbury, Connecticut. Our monumental efforts to breathe hope, inclusivity, and comfort into the space were rewarded when we uncovered 3 gorgeous stained-glass windows. Walled over during one of many previous remodel efforts, we highlighted these treasures and made them a focal point of the pathway leading to the lobby.

Deconstruction was labor-intensive, but despite the 75-year-age-gap, our design team captured the original character of the 1930s building.

The 3,500 sq. ft. area is comprised of the main lobby, waiting room, gift shop, coffee station, restrooms, and elevator lobby.
